COMFORTIS REVIEW:
I’m the owner of a 2,5 year old female Rottweiler, living in Southwest Florida. I’ve owned dogs for 15 years now and never had a problem with fleas until about 6 months ago. I’ve always used the topical flea and tick solutions, even though in the last years, they did not work very well against ticks. Anyway, like I said – never had a problem with fleas though.  For some reason, all of a sudden, my dog contracted fleas and I couldn’t get rid of them no matter what I did. I tried several different brands and types, such as Frontline, Advantage etc. but nothing worked. I could not get rid of those little suckers! It was very frustrating and disgusting to say the least. I started doing a lot of research online and read that a lot of people used a fairly new pill called Comfortis successfully. It’s a chewable, flea pill approved by the USFDA.

I went to my dog’s vet and got one pill to try out. Comfortis is a tablet designed to prevent flea infestation for 30 days.  Within just half an hour after swallowing the pill, Comfortis starts killing fleas that are feasting on your dog’s blood. I gave Kiki (my dog) the pill with some food, since some people say their dogs can throw up the first few times when you give them the medication. I never had this problem. And low and behold, it worked wonderfully. This was 6 months ago and I haven’t seen a single flea ever since (knock on wood!). The funny thing is that it’s only supposed to work for fleas, but my dog has not had even one tick ever since she started taking Comfortis. That’s definitely an extra bonus!

A lot of vets suggest Comfortis for dogs that are prone to skin allergies due to the fact it’s given orally.  You simply have to adhere to the correct dosage based on your dog’s weight. In contrast to flea sprays, you don’t need to stress about your carpet or couch getting tarnished and no toxin will rub off on your or your family’s skin. Comfortis ought to be given every single month without interruption in the event you reside in a location where fleas thrive all year round.

Unfortunately, the only negative thing with Comfortis is the price; I paid $103 at the vet’s office for a 6 months supply. Oh well… if it eliminates these nasty critters from my dog and my house, it is definitely worth it!
